Stamped Concrete Installation Achieves The Desired Brand Identity for Our Hotel Project

Many people see a monotonous and rather unappealing area of hard, grey pavement when they think of concrete. Concrete, on the other hand, has a diverse stylistic range that appears to be developing by the day. Concrete can now closely resemble a wide range of natural substances often at a fraction of the cost. Argus Builders have seen this as we are installing stamped concrete at our client’s hotel at Dahican, Mati.

Stamped concrete is one of the most intriguing new techniques in the field of ornamental concrete. This method enables Davao Stamped concrete installers like us to precisely mimic the appearance of natural paving materials such as slate and stone.

Applying this relatively new development to our client’s hotel, we would walk you through the process of installing the stamped concrete and how it helps to achieve hotel’s desired brand identity.

Preparation and Dispensing

A stamped concrete surface begins its life in the same way as regular concrete does. The site must first be carefully explored. The ground must be meticulously leveled to produce an even surface.

The hotel is located by the seashore and has 3 swimming pools, levelling the concrete allows the hotel to contain the moisture and continuous exposure to sea water and heat. This is just the preparation and dispensing part but serves its ultimate purpose of being durable. As always, concrete would be left alone at this point to harden. However, with stamped concrete, this curing process is only allowed to go long enough to allow space for the next step.

Concrete Coloration

One of the advantages of stamped concrete is that it can be colored in a wide range of hues. This property enables it to resemble natural compounds more precisely. The concrete coloration is most notably detailed on the family suites of the hotel that has a mezzanine and an exclusive pool deck. Color hardener is a chemical that is used to color the paint. Once the concrete has cured long enough that there is no longer any bleed water on the surface, a concrete installer will apply this dry powder.

Color hardener is applied by tossing handfuls of the powder across the still-wet surface. While this may appear to be an easy task, it requires a steady touch and a lot of practice to uniformly distribute the hardener. The hardener absorbs water for a few minutes after being dispersed, during which time the color seeps into the concrete.

Using a Release Agent

The concrete must now be prepared for the stamping procedure once it has been colored to the proper hue. Stamping is done with specific plastic mats that are pushed into the semi-hard surface, leaving indentations that give the illusion of natural pavement. However, if you start stamping straight away, the results will be sloppy due to the mats' proclivity to stick to the surface.

To lessen the possibility of the mats becoming stuck during removal, a release agent is first applied. As a result, the resulting lines will be crisp, clear, and entirely convincing. The release agent can be in the form of a powder, which is dispersed across the surface similarly to the color hardener, or a liquid, which is sprayed across the surface with a specific spray wand. This is one step on concrete stamps that not all Davao construction firms do.

Concrete Stamping

It is finally time for the stamping process to begin. These interlocking plastic pieces are placed along one side of the concrete. Workers stamp them down, then delicately raise and reposition them in a new row. In this fashion, the installer makes their way across the entire surface, leaving imprinted lines that resemble the contours of natural paving materials.
